An afternoon at sunder nursery
One of Delhi’s most aesthetic and popular spots to relax and be close to nature. Restored by the Aga Khan Trust for Culture in collaboration with Delhi’s Central Public Works Department (CPWD) as part of the Nizamuddin Urban Renewal Initiative. The restoration project, which began in 2007, took approximately 10 years and concluded with the public opening in February 2018. The nursery, originally created by the Mughals in the 16th century, became a plant nursery for New Delhi during the British era and later fell into disrepair. It still functions as a nursery and a garden featuring the iconic charge style and the most interesting named flowers, my favorite was the gold medal. 🥇

📍Ramnagar Fort, Tulsi Ghat, Banaras

The sandstone structure was built in the Rajputana style in 1750 by Kashi Naresh Maharaja Balwant Singh. The current king and the resident of the fort is Anant Narayan Singh, who is also known as the Maharaja of Benares even though this royal title has been abolished since 1971.

The building was constructed with creamy-coloured chunar sandstone. It is built in typical Mughal style of architecture.

The fort has been built on high ground, which is above the flood level.The fort has many carved balconies, open courtyards and pavilions. The museum inside the fort also houses a 150 year old functional astronomical clock!
